Professor Jeroen Hendriks is an internationally recognised expert in nursing science, with a strong focus on integrated and person-centred care. As Professor of Nursing Science at Maastricht UMC+, he contributes to the advancement of evidence-based nursing and interdisciplinary care models, particularly in the field of cardiovascular health.

His research has significantly shaped nurse-led care pathways for conditions such as atrial fibrillation and heart failure, aiming to improve outcomes through innovative, team-based approaches. Professor Hendriks has held senior academic and clinical roles in both Europe and Australia, including at Flinders University, and is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the Heart Failure Association.
